From February 9 to 17, 2019, Marrakech will host the 5th edition of the National Crafts Week.
Rich in a craft culture that has made it famous throughout the world and encouraged by the international recognition that its productions have obtained in recent years, particularly in the field of decoration, Morocco has undertaken an unprecedented promotional effort for the benefit of its craftsmen.
The objective set by the Government is indeed particularly ambitious. In a few years, it is a question of doubling the turnover of this sector to reach 24 billion dirhams and multiplying by 10 its exports!
In this context, the National Crafts Week occupies a central place. This is why the city of Marrakech has mobilized a huge space of 50,000 m2 to host the event.
In total, there will be 1300 exhibitors from the 12 regions of Morocco, who will illustrate the very wide range of Moroccan crafts and arts. The salon will be subdivided into 12 distinct spaces to highlight the cultural and artisanal characteristics of each of the kingdom's regions. A 600 m² space will also be dedicated to prestigious crafts.
Beyond economic considerations, this immense craft fair represents for the traveller a unique opportunity to discover the fabulous talents and treasures of a country rich in its traditions. It is the opportunity to undertake a wonderful cultural journey through Morocco, its regions and local identities, without leaving Marrakech….
Finally, it is an opportunity to pay tribute to all these exceptional craftsmen and women, holders of ancestral know-how and guardians of a unique heritage.
